What have you been reading lately?
Over the summer I discovered some great new authors like Alice Hoffman and Ruth Ware. Both of these ladies write some heartfelt, fantasy-themed and pulse-pounding fiction. In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware was very compelling, and I highly recommend it. Hoffman's The Rules of Magic, about a family of witches coping with a generational curse and a family tragedy, was also a great book and inspired me to finish my latest novel, Curse of the Witch. Currently I'm reading Serafina and the Black Cloak by Robert Beatty. Although I'm not finished with it yet, I've been very much sucked into the story so far. The vivid descriptions, the smooth story pacing, and the engaging main character Serafina, are all very well-done by Mr. Beatty. Next on my list to read is 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I've been told by a reliable source that I will enjoy this book very much. Of course, more books are no doubt going to drop into my lap come Christmastime … so who knows? What books are you reading right now?
