DAVID R. SMITH
As a teacher, I know young readers can struggle to understand what they've read.
Some books and articles are very long and complicated, jammed with vocabulary and references to things that seem hard to comprehend.
It doesn't have to be that way.
I asked myself, "How can I make it easier for young readers?" So what I did was write a book for kids that starts with the easier reading skills and then builds up slowly to the more complex skills. You should be able to see how it all goes together. You will notice some connections to writing in here, too. If you understand reading as a writer, you're more likely to understand writing as a reader!
